Ingredients:

How to Make:

Makes 1 Cocktail
Pear Simple Syrup

1 Whole Pear (cored and cut into pieces)

1 Cup Water

1 Cup Sugar

1 Tablespoon Cinnamon (or 2 cinnamon sticks)

Spiced Pear Gin Fizz

1 Teaspoon White Sugar (for rim)

1 Teaspoon Cinnamon (for rim)

Crushed or Small Cubed Ice

2 Ounces Gin (we recommend Hendrick’s)

1 1/4 Ounce Fresh Lemon Juice

1 Teaspoon Pear Simple Syrup (more or less for preference)

2 Ounces Lemon-Flavored Sparkling Water for Topping
Star Anise, Sliced Pear, and Thyme Sprig for Serving
Start by gathering your ingredients for creating a Pear Simple Syrup, a critical step in making the perfect Spiced Pear Gin Fizz. With equal parts water and sugar (1 cup each), combine with 1 pear, cored and cut into pieces, and 1 tablespoon cinnamon in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring all ingredients to a boil and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and let steep for 30 minutes prior to adding to your cocktail.

Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Add gin, lemon juice, and Pear Simple Syrup (from recipe above) to cocktail shaker. Replace lid and shake for 15 seconds or until shaker is cold (will be frosty). Strain into a glass. Top with lemon-flavored sparkling water and garnish with star anise, pears and thyme, if desired.
